2nd Annual General Meeting
The second Annual General Meeting was held in Utrecht, Amsterdam between the 4th and 6th October. Each work package lead reported on their progress to date and research findings and discussed opportunities and challenges. Prof Sabine Oertfelt-Prigione delivered a keynote lecture on 'The impact of sex and gender on Health Care Research.' Emeritus Professor Mt Ruud Bos delivered a lecture on "Healthcare should not be without obligation".
The meeting provided opportunity for brainstorming sessions and continued to build stronger collaboration between the project partners. The project leader Stefan Listl, on
behalf of all the consortium members, thanked Prof Geert van der Heijden for his contribution to the
project and wished him a happy retirement. The Scientific Advisory Board members also provided feedback and contributed to the outcomes of the meeting.

World Oral Health Day
The DELIVER project, intricately aligned with the ethos of World Oral Health Day 2024, underscores the interconnectedness of oral and over- all health. Celebrated globally on 20 March, World Oral Health Day aims to equip individuals with knowledge and tools to prevent oral diseases, high- lighting the critical role of good oral hygiene and risk management in maintaining general health.
In 2024, the focus is on demonstrating how oral health contributes to overall health, reinforcing DELIVER's mission to enhance oral healthcare quality across Europe. The DELIVER initiative aligns seamlessly with World Oral Health Day 2024's theme, "A HAPPY MOUTH IS… A HAPPY BODY,"
reinforcing the critical interplay between oral and overall health. It pioneers a robust Quality Improve- ment Model aimed at system-wide enhancements in European oral healthcare. This four-year initiative strategically tackles disparities, fostering a collaborative environment for stakeholders at multiple levels to engage in meaningful dialogues. By advancing oral care standards, DELIVER aims to rectify treatment inaccuracies, mitigate overtreatment, and empower patients, thereby fostering higher economic efficiency
and ensuring broader access to supe- rior care. Its targeted outcomes reflect a commitment to operational excellence, integrating quality indica- tors, governance reforms, and innova- tive technological applications to streamline care processes.
The project envisions a transforma- tive impact on oral healthcare, promoting community-centric prac- tices, elevating patient safety, and nurturing academic leadership to sustain future quality and safety in oral care. By embracing these multi- faceted strategies, DELIVER not only advocates for improved oral health outcomes but also contributes to the economic resilience, enhancing soci- etal well-being and embodying the holistic vision of a happy mouth fostering a happy body.

DELIVER present at IADR 2023
The annual general session of IADR in 2023 was held in Bogota, Colombia in July together with LAR and WCPD. DELIVER organized a symposium on the use of deliberative methods for improving oral healthcare quality and was represented by Matthew Byrne, Michael Lorenz and Paula Vassallo. In their talks, they discussed opportunities and challenges for quality improvement, how deliberative methods in practice-based interventions can be used, the role of the patient voice in quality improvement efforts, and how deliberative methods can be used in a public health and policy context. The IADR general session is a large scientific conference in which all fields of oral and dental research are represented. The DELIVER symposium, titled 'DELIVER: Using Deliberative methods to improve oral care quality' was sponsored by the Behavioural, Epidemiological and Health Services Research (BEHSR) and e-Oral Health networks. One overarching theme of the conference was the impact of recent World Health Organization's oral health resolution (2021), strategic plan (2022) and action plan (2023) on research and oral health services. It was evident from the research presented that political determinants and inequity pose major challenges to achieving the goal of access to good quality oral care for everyone. We used this conference to network with researchers from around the globe to discuss current and future research and to combine our efforts towards the best attainable oral health for everyone.

A Better Future for Oral Health Care Across Europe
Oral health is an essential component of our overall health, quality of life and well-being, but is, unfortunately, often overlooked. Neglecting oral health can have serious repercussions on our physical, mental, and social well-being.
Oral diseases are among the most common chronic health conditions worldwide affecting over 3.5 billion people worldwide. Access to adequate oral health care is, to most, a luxury, with various population groups, especially disadvantaged ones, more likely to experience poorer oral health outcomes.
Given the significance of oral health and the challenges faced in maintaining it, there is a need for innovative and collaborative approaches to improve oral health care.
The DELIVER project, is one such initiative, which is a 4-year Horizon
Europe-funded project that started in August 2022 with the overall aim to provide and implement a blueprint model for improving the quality and safety of oral care for everyone: the DELIVER Quality Improvement Model.
The EU DELIVER project thus has the potential to transform the oral healthcare landscape in Europe. By co-producing solutions and leveraging technology, the project aims to improve access to oral healthcare services, reduce inequalities, and enhance patient outcomes. The project's deliverables, can serve as a blueprint for other healthcare sectors. Ultimately, the EU DELIVER project can ensure access to innovative, sustainable, high-quality health care and contribute to the overall health and well-being of the European population.
